Sam Van is a highly experienced financial executive with over two decades of expertise in advisory services, corporate listings, and financial compliance. As the former Head of Advisory Services and Senior Vice President at Freedom U.S. Markets, he played a pivotal role in listing over 80 companies on the NYSE and Nasdaq, collectively valued at $7 billion. Sam currently serves as an independent director for several prominent public and private enterprises across the U.S. and Asia. Previously, he led corporate advisory efforts at Deltec Investment Adviser Limited, overseeing listings on U.S. and global exchanges from 2018 to 2023.
Sam’s career highlights include assisting the U.S. Committee on Foreign Investment by co-chairing a $400 million national security-related transaction, as well as holding key roles at FINRA in trading compliance and risk oversight. Before joining FINRA, he spent 11 years at the NYSE, focusing on facilitating IPOs for Asian companies. Beyond his professional roles, he is deeply involved in supporting entrepreneurs and has contributed to Asian financial development through his long-standing involvement with the Asian Financial Society. Sam holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from St. John’s University and an MBA from Cornell University.
